Roemah Koffie celebrates Indonesian culture; launches new Koffie Tins at World of Coffee

ndonesian premium coffee brand, Roemah Koffie is steadfast in its commitment to introduce the richness of Indonesian coffee, both in terms of its flavors, and its cultural significance. This is best represented by their most recent innovation, Roemah Koffie’s Koffie Tins. A premium line of Indonesian coffee beans packaged in exclusive cans inspired by local culture, first introduced at the World of Coffee (WOC) 2025 event in Jakarta International Convention Center.

Both a roaster and a coffee shop that caters to B2B and B2C channels, Roemah Koffie’s new Koffie Tins are one aspect of its expansion plans for 2025. Recently opening up three new outlets earlier this year in S8 Tower Gading Serpong, Puri Indah Mall in West Jakarta, as well as Gunawarman in South Jakarta, its location expansion isn’t winding down yet as it is set to launch another outlet in the PIK 2 area this year as well.

“Our expansion is just the beginning, it's all part of our mission to make Indonesian coffee known and loved globally.” CEO of Roemah Koffie, Felix TJ said during a press conference at WOC 2025.

Through its new Koffie Tins, Roemah Koffie is introducing three variants in the inaugural lineup. Officially launched in its booth at WOC, Felix showcased the Rambadia, Anak Daro and Tondiku Koffie Tins, which offer the distinctive flavors of Sumatran coffee beans.

The three variants also highlight different aspects of Indonesian culture, with Rambadia representing unity and shared prosperity, Anak Daro taking inspiration from Minangkabau folklore that symbolizes warmth and affection, and Tondiku reflecting the traditions of the Batak ethnic group.

Roemah Koffie’s Rambadia, serves as flagship product introducing premium Gayo coffee beans from Bener Meriah, Aceh, one of the world’s top coffee-growing regions.

The coffee features a bold and distinct flavor profile, and the Koffie Tin housing the beans is adorned with ulos textile patterns, a symbol of love, unity and blessings in Batak culture. Weaving a quality coffee experience with cultural heritage, making each can into a cultural artifact.

“Through Rambadia, we want to introduce Indonesia to the world in a meaningful way,” said Felix. “It’s more than coffee, it’s about sharing values, history and connection through every cup.”

Aside from launching new innovations, Roemah Koffie also featured an immersive multisensory installation at its booth in WOC, Giant Koffie Tins. Created in collaboration with Bandung-based digital studio Sembilan Matahari, these giant walk-in tins transported visitors into the sights, sounds and stories of North Sumatra and the Gayo highlands.

Inside, attendees were treated to a rich audiovisual journey through the landscapes and communities that produce Roemah Koffie’s beans, culminating in a deeper appreciation of Rambadia’s flavor and origin.

Roemah Koffie’s booth at WOC 2025 was more than a showcase, it was a cultural celebration. Renowned designer and cultural icon Edward Hutabarat curated the space using authentic ulos, traditional artifacts and Nusantara-inspired décor.

Additionally, visitors to the booth were also offered trial classes through the Roemah Koffie Academy, workshops led by professional coffee coaches, live roasting sessions, alongside various performances, which included live music, traditional dances and DJ sets.

A highlight for coffee enthusiasts was the exclusive opportunity to purchase the new Koffie Tins trio, Rambadia, Anak Daro and Tondiku, in a special bundle priced at Rp 1.5 million (compared with the regular Rp 639,000 per tin) at Roemah Koffie’s booth. This limited-edition bundle was only available at WOC, but Felix stated that select official outlets would sell them afterward.

“For our Teman Roemah who can’t attend this year’s World of Coffee, we’ll be selling these Koffie Tins in our concept store and official marketplace, but stocks will be limited.”

Whether it be their branch in West Jakarta’s Puri Indah Mall 2, or both Gading Serpong’s Roemah Koffie Carstensz Mall and Roemah Koffie S8, coffee enthusiasts can now secure their own cultural Koffie Tin and enjoy premium quality coffee beans.

Roemah Koffie believes coffee is more than a beverage, it’s a bridge between people, cultures, and stories. Through WOC 2025 and the launch of Koffie Tins, the brand is confidently stepping toward becoming a leader in the Indonesian premium coffee market while shining a light on the nation’s cultural diversity.

Felix concluded, “We hope the journey of Roemah Koffie, through our flavors and stories, can be woven into a rich cultural tapestry, something that can be shared and enjoyed together by everyone.”
